Who’s really making your decisions? While it looks like you’re calling the shots, there’s a high chance you’re unknowingly letting someone else steer your life. Your partner. Your clients. Your investors. Your parents. Even your own fear, disguised as “logic.”
That silent power leak? It’s costing you more than you realize.
The Illusion of Control: When You Say “I Need to Ask My Partner First”
I once worked with a client — a wildly capable, heart-led woman — who wanted to join my business mentorship program. The spark in her voice, the clarity in her eyes — she knew this was her next level.
Then we talked investment. And suddenly, she said,
“I just need to talk to my husband first.”
Seems harmless, right?
Yet, if we pause — who was actually making the decision? Her or him?
It’s uncomfortable to admit, but many women don’t move forward with decisions they feel deeply aligned with… all because they’re afraid of what someone else might think. Approval becomes more important than alignment.
And so we stay small. We choose safety. We press pause on our growth.
The Subtle Sabotage You Don’t Even Notice
This pattern doesn’t stop at romantic partners. The “decision-maker” in your mind could be your mother. Your mentor. A client. Or even a version of you from the past.
You want to raise your rates — but your clients’ reactions stop you.
You sense a major business pivot — yet fear your investors might not approve.
You feel called to sell a property — and suddenly your mom’s voice is echoing in your head, “Is that really a good idea?”
So once again, let me ask: Who’s really making your decisions?
Every time we override our own knowing to maintain harmony or avoid judgment, we hand away our power — piece by piece.
Reclaiming Your Power Starts With Awareness
This isn’t theory. It’s lived experience.
I owned an apartment in Tallinn. It was mine — paid by me, and completely under my name. But when I felt the nudge to sell it and do something more aligned, I hesitated.
Why?
Because the loudest voice in my mind wasn’t my own — it was my mother’s.
She’s not even in real estate, and still, I let her perspective influence me. That realization hit hard.
It became clear that I’d been allowing people who weren’t living my life to shape my decisions. That had to stop.
Your Mindset Is Your Most Valuable Asset
We’re not taught this, but it’s the real secret to having it all:
Your mindset is your most powerful investment.
Spending money on coaching or education can feel like a big leap. But think about it — homes can be lost, cars break down, jobs disappear.
The beliefs you rewire, the inner strength you build, the confidence you earn?
No one can take that away from you.
I’ve poured tens of thousands into mindset work, and it’s paid back more than any material investment I’ve made. That decision to sell my apartment — once I reclaimed my power — turned into a four-home development that now houses my family and three others.
And that one move unlocked a string of wins I once only dreamed about.
Stop Waiting for Permission
If something inside you is pulling you toward a program, a mentor, or a bold next step… follow it.
This is your inner CEO speaking — not your fear.
The world doesn’t need more women asking for permission. It needs more of us choosing ourselves.
So again, I’ll ask: Who’s really making your decisions?
Is it the woman building her dream… or the one afraid of rocking the boat?
You Can’t Create a New Reality With Old Beliefs
Want to build a life of freedom, wealth, and purpose?
You can’t keep basing your choices on outdated fears and outside opinions.
Start asking:
-
Am I choosing based on alignment or approval?
-
Whose voice is influencing me — and do they know what’s best for me?
-
What would change if I trusted myself completely?
And that bold next step? You already know what it is.
Trust it. Own it. Move.
